The Levitt Institute was launched in 2007 with the intention of bringing sociological study of international standards to Australia by utilising the competitive dynamism of the private sector in co-operation with the rigorous academic standards of top Australian intellectuals.
2009 marks The Levitt Institutes first foray into nation wide studies of the Australian sociological character. We are pleased to announce a recent multi-million dollar commitment to this expansion over the next five years. The Levitt Institute will endeavour to drive market innovation in the area of sociological study and push Australian studies to the most demanding international standards.
Chairman and Executive Director Doctor Carl Varnsen founded the Levitt Institute in 2007 to fill a gap in the market and create Australia’s first dedicated Sociological research institute with the resources to become a global leader.
Doctor Carl Varnsen studied at UC San Diego and The School of Sociology at The Ludwig Maximilian University of Munich, before moving to Australia in 1993 to form his own private consultancy to assist tertiary educators all over Australia transition into 21st century learning methodologies. Doctor Varnsen closed his consultancy to found the Levitt Institute.
